Artist BIO

English-Eastern European artist (b. 2003), based in Wurundjeri land, Melbourne, Australia.

Teagle’s typical work combines dramatic oil painting with monochromatic self-portraiture to vulnerably explore themes of hard-to-verbalise emotional responses and catharsis. Dedicated to using exclusively monochromatic black-and-white oil paint, Teagle is predominantly inspired by Baroque and Dutch vanitas still-life art, where she harmonises the two to create an interesting blend of distorted realism. Her dark, evocative pieces aim to provide an intimate window into the experiences of a woman with ADHD. Emotions such as grief, shame, rage, betrayal, worthlessness, and feeling incapable are all major focal points.
